Henry Tate by Bruce Ingman

Henry Tate is the story of the founder of Britain’s famous Tate galleries. Henry Tate was a man with a passion for making art available to as many people as possible. The book walks us through his life, starting from his days as a green grocer.

As someone who studied art most of his life and has visited the Tate galleries countless times, I surprisingly knew very little about this historical figure.

I certainly didn’t make the connection between the sugar company and the art galleries.

It’s a fascinating story; I am thrilled it’s been told through the picture book form.
