Bob Staake is an award-winning author/illustrator of over 50 books, i’m sure you will recognise a bunch of them. He created the brilliant, thought-provoking and moving, wordless picture book Bluebird, which was named as one of the best children’s books of 2013 by The New York Times, Publishers Weekly & Barnes & Noble. Click the image above to go to Bob Staake’s website and have a closer look at the other great picture books he has created over the years.

Bob Staake’s illustrations are a marriage of classic illustration brought to life by modern technology. His illustrations are renowned for being brightly coloured with crisp lines and flat surfaces. For me, part of the appeal is his instantly recognisable style.

Here’s an advert Bob did for Intel, which gives us a 30 second insight into his create process.
