Round and Round and Square By Fredun Shapur

Written and illustrated by British designer Fredun Shapur in 1965, reprinted by Tate Publishing. In this book a circle and a square create an imaginary world through play.

The screen printed geometric illustrations sit serenely against the white spaces of the pages. This is one of those picture books that appeals to the graphic designer in me. I think it’s beautiful in its simplicity.
